Voluntary Affiliation

Voluntary affiliation is the voluntary recognition of a child born or conceived out of wedlock (cf. Art. 1847 of the Civil Code).

It is a personal legal act, freely performed, but it can be done through an attorney, with special powers (cf. art. 1849 of the Civil Code).

It can be carried out by public deed or by means of a will (cf. Art. 1853 of the Civil Code).
